Good news for residents on Walkley Road and Whitehouse Lane

Liberal Democrat councillors have reacted to local people's concerns about motorists mounting the kerbs and driving at excessive speeds along Walkley Road.

A petition from residents of both Whitehouse Lane and Walkley Road was presented to council by Walkley Focus Editor Vickie Priestley. Thanks to your action, bollards are to be erected along the narrow section of Walkley Road to stop vehicle driving on the pavement. Parking on the road will not be reduced.

Further Action

Council officers will look at Whutehouse Lane to see if any further safety measures can be applied. Your Liberal Democrat councillors will continue to press for more police action to reduce the speed of traffic on these roads.
